     A Sunny Day in Glasgow

Welcome to the First CBBM of 2010. This Band Started with Ben Daniels when him and his friend Ever Nalens started making cassette recordings years before A Sunny Day in Glasgow got together. Nalens moved to Glasgow from 2002 to 2004 to go to art school, and Daniels moved to London about a year later. They started playing together again after Ben returned in the summer of 2005, but Nalens abandoned the project after a couple months but Daniels kept the name Daniels continued to write Lauren was brought in as a vocalist a few months later, and the group started recording tracks in Ben's West Philly apartment and at their parents. They put some of the tracks together and released them as an EP, called The Sunniest Day Ever, in March 2006. The EP charted at number one on New York's WNYU, the songs started bouncing around online, and soon enough Pitchfork gave the first track on their EP, "C'mon," a four-star rating. Indie labels started to pay attention, and the group scored a record deal with Notenuf Records in October 2006. They recorded their first full-length album, Scribble Mural Comic Journal in 2006 and released it in February of the following year. They're a great band if you're into Shoegaze and music that takes you to another place.

                                        Fleet Foxes

Reminiscent of 60's/70's acts such as Bob Dylan,The Zombies, and Don McLean,  Fleet Foxes, fronted by Robin Pecknolds Harmonious Voice, were a definite pick for the month of March. Their Style Breathes Folk and Hints of Baroque Pop through your veins with songs like Blue Ridge Mountains and White Winter Hymnal. After playing only a handful of shows, the band generated a good amount of label interest and caught the attention producer Phil Ek, who has also helped on the records of  similar bands Built to Spill and the Shins. Ek worked with the band on its Sun Giant EP, which was issued by Sub Pop Records in spring 2008. The band's self-titled debut full-length followed that summer which features the songs Mentioned. Check em' Out.

               Passion Pit

Welcome to the party known as passion pit. Passion Pit was originally formed as a solo project in 2007 by Michael Angelakos in his dorm room. The songs, which later became the Chunk of Change EP, were written as a Valentine's Day gift to his then girlfriend. Angelakos wrote and performed all of these songs on his laptop. After a solo show in the Boston area, Berklee College of Music, Ian Hultquist, approached Angelakos to form a live band with the material Angelakos had at the time. They formed a group that included Angelakos, Ian Hultquist , Ayad Al Adhamy, Thom Plasse, and Adam Todd Lavinsky. After signing to Frenchkiss in 2008, the band got rid of Lavinsky and Plasse and replaced them with Nate Donmoyer and Jeff Apruzzese. This Electropop quintet still manages to keep their indie cred despite their rise in mainstream popularity due to their song Sleepyhead being featured in various ads, such as for the palm pixi and the background song for the debut trailer of the Playstation 3 exclusive, LittleBigPlanet 2. Check em' Out it'll be a party on your ipod theyre on tour with tokyo police club so they might be coming to a city near you.

They've played dates on SXSW,along with other major music festivals. Also Check out their crazy antics on their youtube page and on myspace.
